Many women who start with me are, above all, tired. Busy with work, family and being there for everyone — except themselves. More energy doesn't start with working harder, but with smarter choices. These seven tips will help you on your way.

1. Move a little every day

You don't have to exercise intensely every day. A walk, taking the stairs, a quick stretch — daily movement keeps your energy and metabolism going.

2. Eat for stable energy

Swings in your blood sugar cause energy dips. Combine protein, fibre and healthy fats at every meal and you'll keep a stable, energetic feeling for longer.

3. Make sleep a priority

Sleep is the foundation of everything. Too little sleep makes you hungrier, less motivated and more sensitive to stress. Try to keep a regular sleep rhythm, even at the weekend.

4. Drink enough water

Fatigue is often disguised dehydration. Start your day with a glass of water and keep a bottle within reach.

5. Schedule time for yourself

Put your own moments in the calendar as if they were an appointment — because they are. Time for yourself isn't a luxury, it's maintenance.

You can't keep pouring from an empty glass.

6. Limit energy drainers

Too much caffeine, alcohol and endless scrolling cost more energy than they give. Become aware of what drains you and set boundaries.

7. Build strength

A stronger body makes everything easier: stairs, lifting, getting through a long day. Strength training may well be the best investment in your daily energy.
